Ondo State - CiSHAN - CiSHAN Activity Report
Ondo State CiSHAN, in collaboration with the Ondo State Agency for the Control of AIDS (ODSACA), commemorated World AIDS Day 2025 (Dec 1st, 2025). The theme for 2025 is "Overcoming disruption, transforming the AIDS response". This theme highlights the urgent need to address recent funding cuts, political, and societal challenges, focusing on transforming the approach to ending AIDS by 2030 through resilience, innovation, and strengthened community-led services.
Key elements of the 2025 theme include:
• Overcoming Disruptions: Addressing the 2025 funding crises and obstacles that threaten to reverse decades of progress.
• Transforming the Response: Urging a shift toward human-rights-centered, community-led care to reach vulnerable populations.
• Focus on Action: Emphasizing that treatment, prevention, and sustained political leadership are crucial to ending AIDS by 2030.
In the middle is the Hon. Commissioner for Health, Dr. Awolowo Ajaka, to his left is the Special Adviser to the Governor on Health, and to his right is High Chief Akomolafe Pius (CiSHAN Coordinator) flagged with other CiSHAN members.
Members are listening to the address by the Secretary of the State Government. Who committed to ensuring the State government’s support and adequate Domestic funding.

The Deputy Governor, in a white caftan and cap, graced the occasion on behalf of the Executive Governor of Ondo State (he reiterated the government’s support for the State's HIV response). To his right is the SSG Dr. Fasoranti, who is the Chairman of ODSACA.
